Laflesh Named Jefferson Athlete of the Week

Watertown, NY— sophomore pitcher, Courtney R. Laflesh, of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) softball team was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending April 22, 2018.  JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Victory Promotions and Under Armour.

Courtney, a 2016 graduate of South Jefferson Central School is majoring in Individual Studies at Jefferson. Laflesh’s accomplishments on the field this past week included having a big weekend for Jefferson Softball, leading the team to its first win of the season against Erie Community College on Sunday.  Laflesh was 7 for 10 overall at the plate over the course of 4 games, including 1 double and 2 RBIs.  In the first game against Erie, Courtney led the team on the mound, having the complete game shutout, allowing only 4 hits.  In the bottom of the 7th, Erie loaded the bases and Courtney produced the ground ball to second baseman, Mallory Harter, to end the game and seal the victory for Jefferson.  Courtney was also 1 for 3 with the RBI double that scored the only run of the game.  Courtney is a sophomore leader on the team and has secured herself as our Ace on the mound.
