Magovney and Messick Named Jefferson Co-Athletes of the Week

Freshman right-handed pitcher, William Magovney of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) baseball team, and freshman midfielder Nathaniel F. Messick, of the Jefferson men’s lacrosse team, were named JCC co-athletes of the week for the week ending April 1, 2018.  JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Under Armour and Victory Promotions.  

William, a 2017 graduate of Immaculate Heart Central School District, is majoring in Childhood Education at Jefferson.  Magovney’s accomplishments on the mound this past week included having a complete game win against Onondaga Community College.  He pitched 7 innings, allowing only 7 hits, 2 earned runs, and 3 walks.  Willie struck out 5 for his first collegiate win.

Nathaniel, a 2016 graduate of General Brown Central School, is majoring in Humanities and Social Sciences at Jefferson.  Messick’s accomplishments on the field this past week included having his first multi-goal game against Herkimer College and continues to lead the team in ground balls.  Nate’s efforts on the field has helped put him in the right places and he has taken advantage.
