Raven and White Named Jefferson Co-Athletes of the Week

Freshman forward Chelsey R. Raven of the Jefferson Community College women’s basketball team and freshman guard, Malik J. White of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) men’s basketball team, were named JCC co-athletes of the week for the week ending November 4, 2018.  JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Under Armour and Victory Promotions.  

Chelsey, a 2018 graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy, is majoring in Childhood Education at Jefferson.  Raven’s accomplishments on the court this past week included helping the women’s basketball program to a 1-1 record on their southern swing season opener.  Chelsey averaged 12 points and 10 rebounds over Baltimore City Community College and Prince George Community College.  Saturday against Prince George she had a career high with 18 points and 14 rebounds that led Jefferson to a win.

Malik, a 2016 graduate of Deering High School, Portland, ME, is majoring in Sports Management at Jefferson.  White’s accomplishments on the court this past weekend included having a good opening weekend in New York City, as he averaged 17 points against Borough of Manhattan Community College and Queensborough Community College. Malik’s long range shooting kept Jefferson in both games.  He has been one of the constants in the program and his commitment to the game of basketball is second to none.  He is one of the first to be in the gym for practice and you will usually find him in the gym after working on his game.
