Cannoneers Explode Offensively, Roll Past SUNY Canton 10–2
The JCC Cannoneers traveled up north Friday night to take on the SUNY Canton Roos in what turned into a physical, hard-hitting matchup — and an offensive showcase for the boys in blue.
First Period
A wild opening period set the tone early as both teams came out flying. The Cannoneers wasted no time getting on the board, jumping out to a quick 2–0 lead with goals from Mason Jeeves and Tanner Esposito. The Roos answered back on the power play just a minute later to cut the lead in half, but Owen Bismarck crashed the net and buried one to make it 3–1.
Canton would capitalize on another man advantage late in the frame to make it 3–2 heading into the first intermission — a period packed with speed, grit, and plenty of heavy hits.
Second Period
Jefferson came out firing in the second. Within the first five minutes, they exploded for three quick goals courtesy of Drew Blevins, Mason Jeeves, and Owen Bismarck, stretching the lead to 6–2.
The middle frame turned into a physical, penalty-filled grind — but that didn't slow JCC down. Tanner Esposito picked off a pass while shorthanded and buried a beauty on the breakaway to make it 7–2. Moments later, Owen Bismarck struck again, completing the hat trick and capping off a dominant offensive surge.
The Cannoneers skated into the second intermission up 8–2, firmly in control.
Third Period
After an offensive barrage in the second, JCC tightened things up defensively in the third. Avery Zenger stood tall between the pipes, continuing his stellar night in goal. Offensively, the boys weren't quite done — Drew Blevins and Dylan Johnson each found the back of the net to make it 10–2.
Despite a few late-game scrums, the Cannoneers kept their composure, playing smart, disciplined hockey to close out a statement win on the road.
