Jefferson Loses Two Tough Ones on the Road

Cannoneers suffer tough loss to Hudson Valley

The Cannoneers travelled to Hudson Valley Community College on Friday to take on the Vikings and came out on the short end of a close 80-78 game.  The Cannoneers would trail at half by 2 and then would come out and play inspired basketball in the second half.  The lead would go back and forth with the Cannoneers getting multiple looks in the last minute of the game.  The Cannoneers would miss two free throws with less than 10 seconds left trailing by 1 and get one more chance at winning the game, as the Hudson valley would sink 1 of two free throws. The Cannoneers would push the ball and get a time out at half court with 2.4 seconds left.  The inbounds play worked to perfection, only to see the last second shot fall short and end the game in favor of Hudson Valley 80-78.

Leading the charge for the Cannoneers were Antonio Smalls-Hansell with 14 points, Reggie Miot and Quincy Aubertine with 13 points, followed closely by Josh Newman with 10 points and 7 rebounds. 

Adirondack pins loss on Cannoneers

The Cannoneers would stay in the Capital District to take onSUNY Adirondack on Saturday and come away with a tough loss.  The Cannoneers would lead at half by 4, only to see the Timberwolves storm out of the locker room in the first 1:30 of the second half on a 13-0 run.  The Cannoneers would weather the storm and get back to within 5, only to see the Timberwolves hang on for the win.  Quincy Aubertine and Josh Newman would each contribute 16 Points to lead the Cannoneers in defeat.  Also contributing to the game were Everal Spyke and Caleb Riordan with 9 points apiece, Marlon Richardson would also contribute 7 points for the Cannoneers.  Next up for the Cannoneers are the Hawks of Mohawk Valley on Wednesday night at 7.
