Cannoneers Give League Leading Corning a Battle

The Cannoneers hosted Corning Community College on Sunday in a Mid-State conference battle and gave the first place Barons all they could handle.  It was a very good first half as the Cannoneers came to play and would lead 37-35 after the first stanza.  The second half would remain tight as both teams would seize small leads in the back and forth battle.  With the game tied at 61 with a little over 6 minutes to go, the Barons would finish the game as timely turnovers and some easy missed shots would doom the Cannoneers upset bid.  The final would find the Cannoneers losing by the score of 73-63.

Leading the way for the Cannoneers were Malik White with 17 points, followed closely by Jerry Willis with 16 points and Jake Hess with 14 points.  Marlon richardson would have an outstanding overall game with 11 assists and running the show.  Next up TC3 at home in a pivotal MId-State game.
