Cannoneers Handle Twins

The Jefferson Men's Basketball team traveled to Columbia Greene to take on the Twins Sunday and found themselves in a tough battle.  The game would be back and forth, with Cannoneers finding a way to win in the end.  JCC would be up 47-40 and would come out executing in the second half to extend their lead to 13, only to watch the Twins fight back and take the lead by 1 in the final minutes of the game.  The Cannoneers would get clutch shooting from Howard Turner (22 points) and timely baskets from veterans to pull out the 87-83 victory on the road.

Howard Turner would lead the Cannoneers with 22 points, making 6 three pointers in the contest.  Liam Bonk would continue his steady play with 18 points.  Isiah Murphy would continue his steady play with 12 points and Jake Hess would contribute 11 points and timely free throw shooting at the end of the game.  A trademark of this team is the balanced scoring attack and unselfishness that they exhibit, game in and game out.  With this victory, the Cannoneers moved to 6-2 in Region III play.  Next up is New York International Academy(prep school) on Saturday at 3pm.
