Cannoneers Win Home Opener

The Cannoneers struck early for a convincing 4-0 win over visiting Adirondack on Saturday afternoon to improve to 2-1 on the season.

Jeffrey Lloyd would get the Cannoneers on the board early with a penalty kick in the 4th minute thanks to a heady play by Sebastian Mastin, who attacked the goal and was abruptly brought down in the box.  Lloyd would strike again in the 8th minute to give the Cannoneers a quick 2-0 lead.  The Cannoneers would continue to force the issue and would be rewarded in the waning moments of the first half when Mackenzie Oakes-Lazare would send a beautiful ball across the goal area and Sidike Duombia would put the ball in the back of the net with a perfectly placed header.

The remainder of the game would be played back and forth as the Cannoneers would continue to press and be rewarded when goalie Andrew McLean (9 saves) would hit a deep ball to the charging Kaden Conners who broke through the defense and put the ball away in the far side of the net.  Another solid team defensive effort would give the Cannoneers their second straight shutout.  Next up is the Cannoneers first conference game versus Onondaga CC on Wednesday.
