Jeffrey Lloyd Scores

Jefferson Cannoneers Prevail over the Cougars

The Cannoneers hosted Clinton CC on Saturday and came away with a well deserved 2-0 win.  It would take a while for the Cannoneers to break through the staunch defensive effort of the Cougars, who were putting everybody behind the ball.  Once the Cannoneers adjusted and found some gaps in the defense, they would put pressure on the Cougar goalie and dent the back of the net twice in the last 13 minutes.  Jeffrey Lloyd would account for both goals, as he scored in the 77th minute on the wet field and in the 84th minute on a well placed shot, assisted by Sebastian Mastin.  The Cannoneers now face two nationally ranked teams in succession, starting with Mohawk Valley at home Saturday then traveling to perennial power Herkimer next Wednesday.
