Cannoneers Fall in Regional Play

Cannoneers Fall in Regional Play

The Cannoneers hosted a Region III playoff game with North Country Community College on Tuesday and what a battle it would be.  Both teams would have numerous chances in the contest, either to see a defender play the ball off the line or send a shot wide.  North Country would take the play to the Cannoneers in the first portion of the game and watch as the Cannoneer defense held strong.  The Cannoneers would then take it to the Saints and find the back of the net as Sebastian Mastin would get fouled, setting up a free kick.  Jeffrey Lloyd would find the back of the net on the free kick for a 1-0  Cannoneer lead at the half.

The second half would be much the same as North Country pressured the Cannoneers and would be rewarded a PK with 2:49 left in the match.  It was a tough way to see the game become tied and the Saints would then score 5 minutes into the over time period to advance in regional play.  Congrats on a great season for the Cannoneers and best of luck to all of the sophomores who are continuing their education or pursuing a job.
