Jefferson Softball Sweep on the Road

In game one of the Saturday match-up between the Lady Cannoneers and the Lady Thunder Wolves Lauren Labiendo (Lafargeville, NY) and Mary Young (Syracuse, NY) each had 2 hits for Jefferson, while Haley Riley (Lowville, NY) led the team with 3 hits and 1 RBI.  Jane Judware (Brasher Falls, NY) also added an RBI for JCC, as they went on the defeat Niagara 4-1.  Brooke Lalone (Adams, NY) pitched 7 innings and struck out 10.

In game two, Jefferson once again proved to me too much for Niagara, defeating them 5-1.  Jane Judware (Brasher Falls, NY), Paige Morgia (Antwerp, NY), Jordan Miller (Sandy Creek, NY), Haley Riley (Lowville, NY), and Jarika Nuffer (Lafargeville, NY) all had a hit for the Lady Cannoneers.  Morgia, Taylor Murtha (Copenhagen, NY), and Riley also had an RBI.

On Sunday in the first game, the Jefferson Softball team faced Erie Community College.  Mary Young (Syracuse, NY) led the Lady Cannoneers with 3 hits and scoring 4 runs.  Lauren Labiendo (Lafargeville, NY) added 2 hits and scored 4 runs.  Brooke Lalone (Adams, NY) led Jefferson to an 11-1 win, striking out 7 and only allowing only 1 run to score.

The second game on Sunday against the Lady Kats was a little closer but still a 7-5 win for the Lady Cannoneers.  Jarika Nuffer (Lafargeville, NY) led Jefferson with 3 hits.  Paige Morgia (Antwerp, NY) and Lauren Labiendo (Lafargeville, NY) each had 2 hits and scored 1 run for JCC.  Haley Riley (Lowville, NY) pitched 2 innings for Jefferson striking out 1 and Brooke Lalone finished the game, pitching 5 innings, striking out 2.

The Lady Cannoneers play a double-header at home tomorrow against Clinton Community College tomorrow.  First game is at 1:00 pm.
