The Lady Cannoneers Fall to Rival the Lady Raiders.

On Sunday the Jefferson Women's Basketball team traveled to Fulton-Montgomery Community College to face off with their Region III rival. In the last 4 years there have been several edge of your seat games between the Lady Raiders and Lady Cannoneers. This year's matchup would be no different, Jefferson knocked down a season high 12 three point baskets behind the sharp shooting of Riley Luckie, Mikayla Horton, and Marisa Clark. Offensively both teams excelled from the floor, seeing the Lady Cannoneer's score a season high 80 points. But in the end it wouldn't be enough to outlast Fulton-Montgomery who took away an 83-80 victory after several free throws in the last minute. It was a back and forth contest for most of the game seeing the Lady Raiders take the largest lead of the game by only 7 points. Freshman forward Taylor Piercey contributed her most minutes of the year and score in double figures for the first time in her short college career.

The Lady Cannoneer's head into the holiday break with some much deserved rest. The Lady Cannoneer's will next travel to Tompkins-Cortland on Tuesday the 29th, which will be the start of 4 games in 6 days!
