Jefferson Women's Basketball Wins Again!
The start to Sunday afternoon's contest with Genesee started off in much of the same fashion as Saturday's contest did. The Lady Cannoneers scored 24 first quarter points, and tallied 41 at the halftime. Mikayla Horton picked up right where she left off on Saturday knocking down three quick three point baskets at the start. As she had done so well in the previous 2 games Sophomore guard Marisa Clark helped lead the charge and control the pace of play from the point guard position all weekend.
Genesee fought back with a great 3rd quarter effort outscoring Jefferson 20-8 in the quarter. Norvonee Hall was all that the Lady Cannoneerscould handle scoring 18 points and grabbing 19 rebounds on the day. Jefferson would then regain control of the scoreboard outscoring Genesee in the final quarter by 5 points leading them to a 64-48 home victory verse the Lady Cougars. Riley Luckie contributed 15 points, Mikayla Horton and freshman guard Amy Holland added 11 each.
