Coaching Experience: 

Coach Wiley is no stranger to NJCAA Region III basketball, at Jefferson he served as the men’s basketball assistant from 1992-1994, before taking over the women’s basketball program from 1994-2006.  He earned over 200 NJCAA wins, 2 Regional Championships, 1 National Runner-up, and coached 5 All-Americans before stepping down and focusing on serving as the Director of Athletics and Director of Physical Education at Jefferson.  Over the past 8 years, Jeff Co-founded and coached the NNY Huskies AAU girls’ basketball program.  The most enjoyable part of coaching is strength training, practice planning, and skill development to make the young athletes the best they can be.

Playing Experience: 

Jeffrey was a member of the Cannoneers basketball teams from 1986-88 served as team Co-Captain in 1987-88, while earning All-Region Honorable mention.  Wiley scored 597 points, a career high 35 points and still holds the Jefferson Men’s Basketball record 3- pointers in a game with 10. He transferred to SUNY Cortland and started 50 of his 51 career games, while serving as team captain in his second year.  As a point guard he scored 547 points with a career high of 27 against SUNY Potsdam and a career high 10 assists vs. Medgar Evers.   

Career Highlights: 

Wiley came to Jefferson as a Technical Specialist/Men’s Basketball Assistant in 1993 and moved into the role of Physical Education Instructor/Women’s Basketball coach in 1995. He served as instructor/coach until 2000, when he became the Director of Athletics/Women’s Basketball coach until 2006.  Jeffrey stepped down after that season to focus on the Athletic Director and Director of Physical Education positions as well as teaching, mentoring, and advising students.  Wiley enters his 31st year at Jefferson and is most excited about the NEW turf field that will be the home of several Cannoneer teams including Baseball, Softball, M & W Soccer and M & W Lacrosse.  

He also served in the NJCAA and Region III as the Women’s Assistant Regional Director from 2005-2009 before becoming the Men’s Regional Director from 2009-2015.  Jeff has also served as the Region III Division III Basketball Chair from 2006-2023 as well as numerous regional and national committees.
