Jefferson Volleyball 2019 MSAC Champions!!

The Lady Cannoneers are 2019 Mid-State Athletic Conference Volleyball CHAMPIONS!  Jefferson was off to a slow start against Corning Community College in the semi-finals, but after winning the first set in extra points, they simply dominated the rest of the day.  They defeated Corning in 3 sets (27-25, 25-11, 25-17) and then met Broome in the finals who defeated Finger Lakes in 3 sets.  Jefferson went right to work and never allowed Broome to get any sort of offense going.  They won in 3 sets as well (25-13, 25-16, 25-13).  Marjorie Vazquez was on fire and racked up 19 kills along with 8 blocks, Allison Burrows added to the offensive charge with 10 kills and had 26 digs as well, while Alyssa Evans played her best volleyball all season adding 7 kills and 2 blocks.  Brooke Everson was steady as always with 8 kills and 12 digs while Grace Gehrke had a big day at the net finishing with 3 blocks and 7 kills.  Jenna Wilson, who was named the MSAC Tournament MVP compiled 35 digs, Savanna Baker added 8 service points, Nicole O'Connor finished with 5 service points and Abigail Sullivan added 3 service points.  Kelsey Finster had an outstanding day, delivering the ball right where her hitters needed it and finished with 43 assists.  The team will travel to Niagara on Friday to compete at Regionals on Saturday, they will enter the tournament seeded third.   Let's keep the streak going Cannoneers!
