NJCAA DIII Region III Cross Country Results
The Cannoneer men's and women's cross country teams headed to Finger Lakes Community College this past weekend for the NJCAA DIII Region III Cross Country Championship meet. The Cannoneers performed extremely well with Alannah Cook and Madison Neukirch being named NJCAA DIII Region III All-Region runners finishing 7th and 8th respectively in Region III and the women's team finished 3rd overall just 3 points behind Hudson Valley (#7 Nationally) and 8 points behind Corning (#10 Nationally).
Individually the women finished the 5 kilometer course as follows: Alannah Cook – 7th in 24:13 (All-Region team), Madison Neukirch – 8th in 24:17 (All-Region team), Shania Spicer – 13th in 25:39, Hanna Neukirch – 17th in 26:55, Maddison Sochia – 24th in 29:18, and Erica Dixon – 34th in 34:09.
The men did not field a full team due to injuries but had great performances by Adama Samake – 42nd in 36:03, Noah Newton – 47th in 36:58, Oscar Middleton – 51st in 39:09 and Jacob Maloney – 53rd in 39:12.
The Cannoneers had 4 season bests from Madison Neukirch, Shania Spicer, Hanna Neukirch and Noah Newton. The teams are primed and ready for the National Championship meet next Saturday at Stanley Park in Westfield, MA!
