Jefferson Splits Double Header with Monroe CC on the Road

On their bye weekend in Division III Regional play, Jefferson traveled to Rochester, NY to play Monroe.

Game 1: JEFFERSON 10 – Monroe 8 (Final 8 innings)

On the mound sophomore starter Adam Terrillion (Lowville, NY) pitched 5 innings, striking out 4 in his first career college start. Sophomore Ariel Suriel (Bronx, NY) earned his first win of the season pitching the final 2 innings allowing only 1 hit and recorded 1 strikeout.

At the plate Jefferson was lead by sophomore Tyler Decker (Adams, NY) hit for the cycle going 4-5 with 6 RBI. Jefferson on the day recorded 15 hits, 5 of which were triples. Nathan Mastervick, Nicolas Espino, and Erric Barnier also contributed 2 hits apiece.

To lead off the top of the 8th sophomore Nicolas Espino (Bronx, NY) hit a triple which 2 batters later was followed by another triple by freshmen Kyle Simmons (Watertown, NY) to score Espino. The next batter was Tyler Decker (Adams, NY) and he delivered a double to score Simmons giving him a cycle on the day.

Game 2: Jefferson 3 – MONROE 16

Jefferson couldn't keep up with Monroe in game 2 of the double header. The three runs were recorded by a bases clearing triple by Freshmen Calder Roggie (Lowville, NY).
