Jefferson sweeps Fulton-Montgomery on the road to move to 5-1 in the Region III Eastern Division
Game 1: Jefferson 3 – Fulton Montgomery 2
Starting pitcher Josh Amann (Carthage, NY) pitched a 7 inning complete game to move to 4-0 on the season. Amann allowed 9 hits, struck out 4, and only allowed 2 walks. Amann managed to stay out of trouble all day limiting big innings for Fulton-Montgomery, highlighted by getting out of a bases loaded-no out situation, without giving up a run. At the plate, Jefferson scored all their runs in the first inning. Nicolas Espino (Bronx, NY) was 2-4 with a triple and Erric Barnier (London, Ontario) recorded the games only RBI.
Game 2: Jefferson 14 – Fulton Montgomery 1
Game two featured another strong pitching performance by Mitchell Dubois (Oneida, NY) going 6 innings, 3 hits, 3 walks, 1 earned run, and 7 strikeouts. At the plate Jefferson held a 4-1 lead going into the top of the 7th and exploded for 10 runs in the top of the frame. Kyle Simmons (Watertown, NY) was 4-5 with a double and 2 RBI. Catcher Jason Hardie (Ajax, Ontario) had a pair of hits with 3 RBI. As a team Jefferson recorded 16 hits, 5 doubles, and 13 RBI in the second game of the double header.
Jefferson returns to action Tuesday with a 4 game series versus Mohawk Valley starting at Murnane Field in Utica, NY on Tuesday and a double header on Thursday at the Watertown Fairgrounds. Both Jefferson and Mohawk Valley are standing at 5-1 in the Region III Eastern Division Standings. All games in the Mohawk Valley series have a 2pm/4pm start time.
