Jefferson Baseball Continues to Thrive with a 4 game sweep against Columbia-Greene

Game #1:         Columbia Greene 2 – Jefferson 23

Starting pitcher Joshua Amann (Carthage, NY) moves to 6-0 on the season with a complete game victory. On the day Amann allowed only 4 hits, and 2 earned runs. At the plate the Cannoneers put up 21 hits in the 5 inning game. Tyler Decker (Adams, NY) went 3-5 at the plate with a double and a grand slam homerun providing 6 RBI. Kyle Simmons (Watertown, NY) contributed 4 hits with 4 RBI. Louie Diaz (Chicago, IL) was 3-4 with 3 RBI. Ariel Suriel (Bronx, NY) at the plate was 3-3 with a 3 run home run tallying up 5 RBI in game one.

Game #2:         Columbia Greene 3 – Jefferson 13

The Cannoneers fell behind early in game two but rallied back behind starter Jordan Delaney (Watertown, NY) pitched a complete game allowing 5 hits and only 3 earned runs. At the plate Tyler Decker (Adams, NY) was 2-3 with another home run tallying up 3 RBI in the game brining up his total to 9 RBI on the day. Kyle Simmons (Watertown, NY) finished 2-2, Ariel Suriel (Bronx, NY) finished 3-3 and Nicolas Espino (Bronx, NY) finished 3-3 with a double and 3 RBI.

On the day the Cannoneers scored 36 runs on 37 hits leading to the sweep moving their record at home to 6-0. Jefferson is now 20-11 on the season and 14-2 in the Region III Eastern Division.

Next for the Cannoneers is a 4 game series with Schenectady County Community College with a home double header Sunday April 28th at the Watertown Fairgrounds. First pitch is scheduled for 1pm.
