The Cannoneers and The Generals Battled it out Last Night

Game #1:         Herkimer 8 – Jefferson 11

Cannoneer starter Joshua Amann (Carthage, NY) pitched a complete game allowing only 5 earned runs to pick up the victory. Amann is now 7-0 on the season and 3rd in the nation in wins.

The Cannoneer's fell behind twice, but overcame a 3-0 and 7-3 deficit. Tyler Decker (Adams, NY) was 3-4 at the plate with 2 RBI. Louie Diaz (Chicago, IL), Kyle Simmons (Watertown, NY), Jason Hardie (Ajax, ONT), and Nathan Mastervick (Niagara Falls, ONT) each contributed 2 hits apiece.

The bottom of the 4th inning was key for Jefferson to pick up the victory scoring 8 runs on 8 hits. Nathan Mastervick (Niagara Falls, ONT) provided a 2 RBI triple in the frame.

Game #2:         Herkimer 12 – Jefferson 1

Game two was close for 5 innings before the Herkimer bats broke it open. Starter Jordan Delaney (Watertown, NY) pitched 5 innings and only allowing 2 earned runs on the afternoon. Offensively Nathan Mastervick (Niagara Falls, ONT) provided the 1 RBI in the game.

At the conclusion of the 4 game series versus top ranked Herkimer, the Cannoneers overall record now stands at 24-15 and 18-6 in the Region III Eastern Division. Jefferson now has a double header with Hudson Valley Saturday at home (12pm), and a double header Sunday at Adirondack to finish out the regular season.

There is a 5 team playoff race for the top 4 spots in the Eastern Division between Herkimer, Jefferson, Hudson Valley, Adirondack, and Mohawk Valley. The first round of sub-regional's would be Saturday May 11th at the higher seed.
