Jefferson Baseball Player Hardie Commits to NCAA Division II West Virginia Wesleyan College

Sophomore Jason Hardie has accepted an athletic scholarship to play at West Virginia Wesleyan College in West Virginia. The Bobcats are coming off a 28-19 overall 2013 season and now competing in the newly formed Mountain East Conference.

Hardie as a freshmen caught most of the load behind the plate and will be looked at this season to be the dominate player at the catcher position. Last season at the plate, Hardie hit for a .352 average including 23 runs scored, 37 hits, 11 doubles, and 31 RBI in 34 games. Currently in 2014, he leads the Cannoneers in batting average through 9 games played.

Jason is expected to transfer into West Virginia Wesleyan and compete at catcher right away for the fall of 2014. Hardie after a successful freshmen season is looking to improve his technique offensively and behind the plate to help bring the Cannoneers back into the Region III playoffs.
