Lakhani Commits to Salem International University

Sophomore right handed pitcher Arman Lakhani from Brampton, Ontario, Canada has verbally committed to NCAA Division II Salem International University in Salem, West Virginia. The Salem Tigers compete in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference for Head Coach Shawn Pynn.

As a freshmen, Lakhani went 1-1 with a 4.00 ERA in 8 appearances. In 2015, Lakhani is one of the main six starting pitchers with five starts so far this season. He is scheduled to start again on Saturday versus Eastern Division opponent Mohawk Valley.

Lakhani will be looked at to pitch right away for Coach Pynn and the Salem Tigers. He will bring a veteran approach to their young pitching staff starting in the fall of 2015.

Lakhani is the fourth Cannoneer to transfer into the Salem International program since 2013. Former Cannoneers Louie Diaz, Nathan Mastervick, and James Adydan all transferred prior. Lakhani will also compete against a familiar face during conference play at Salem for current teammate Michael Wood, committed to play at Davis & Elkins next season.
