Cannoneers Earn Mid-State Conference DH Sweep on the Road vs. Broome.

Game 1: Jefferson 2 - Broome 1

Game one turned out to be a pitchers dual in the opening game of a double header. Jefferson sent out sophomore left handed pitcher Christian Jorden to start. Jorden completed 6 innings of work allowing just 4 hits and struck out 5. With a 2-1 lead going into the final bottom inning the Cannonners sent out sophomore righty Christopher Johannesson to close. Johannesson would convert pitching one inning facing only three batters earning his second save of the 2016 season.
 

Offensively for the Cannoneers freshmen Benjamin Godbout lead with 2 hits. In the top of the seventh, Godbout lead off with a bunt single and was sacrificed over to second on Joel Reynoso's sac bunt. Godbout eventually was moved to third on a ground out from Jason Pastuizaca bringing up freshmen John Andrews with two outs. Andrews would double into right field plating Godbout to take the 2-1 lead.

Game 2: Jefferson 12 - Broome 2
 

In the second game the Cannoneers jumped out early scoring 5 runs in the top of the second. In the inning Jason Pastuizaca doubled and recorded 2 RBI. Another run was added in the 3rd from a RBI ground out from Zachery Parilla. In the 6th inning the Cannoneers put up 6 more taking a 12-2 lead. For Jefferson Joel Reynoso, Edward Corniel, Yonnelle Firebrace, and Jason Pastuizaca each contributed 2 hits a piece.

On the mound in game two the Cannoneers sent out freshmen George Amalvert. Amalvert would go on to earn his first collegiate win with a 5 inning effort, just allowing 3 hits and struck out 3. Freshmen Andrew Dayton would pitch the final inning.
The Conference sweep brings the Cannoneers overall record to 6-6 with two Mid-State opponents left in Finger Lakes and Corning before their divisional schedule starts next week.
