Game 1: Utica JV 6 – JEFFERSON 16
The Cannoneers would use two big innings to provide enough offense to put up 16 runs and end game one in six innings. Leading the Cannoneers was sophomore shortstop Hunter Thomas, who ended game one going 4-4 at the plate with 2 runs scored, 3 doubles, a homerun, and 5 RBI. Sophomore Mathew Ardizzi, and freshmen Nathan Carinci, and Zachary Catlin would also contribute 2 hits apiece.
Game 2: Utica JV 7 – JEFFERSON 10
The Cannoneers would find themselves down 5-0 early before putting up 8 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Sophomores Killian Ladue and Mathew Ardizzi provided 2 hits while freshmen John Andrews and Victor Christiansen also chipped in 2 hits. Sophomore Eder Hernandez also provided a 2 RBI double.
The DH sweep brings the Cannoneers overall record to 10-10 on the 2016 season with a Region III Eastern Division record of 2-2. The Cannoneers start a four game series with Columbia-Greene CC on Tuesday when they travel to Hudson, New York.
