Corniel wins 2016 NJCAA Division III Gold Glove Award

Sophomore first basemen Edward Corniel (New York, NY) has been selected by the NJCAA Division III Baseball Committee as the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove winner at first base in 2016. Corniel played in 43 games, recorded 283 put outs, 11 assists, 13 double plays, while only committing 2 errors all season. He also hit .347 on the season with 7 doubles, 3 triples, 3 homeruns, and 32 RBI.

Corniel has accepted an athletic scholarship to continue this education and playing career at Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, Missouri. The Hannibal-LaGrange Trojans compete in the NAIA as a member of the American Midwest Conference. Corniel will join fellow sophomores Toure Parpit-Sinclair and Joel Reynoso at Hannibal-LaGrange University.
