Navarra Commits to Cortland State

Sophomore 1B/LHP Joshua Navarra (Immaculate Heart Central - Watertown, NY) has verbally committed to continue his college education and athletic career at Cortland State starting in the Fall of 2018. The Cortland State Red Dragons compete in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) for Head Coach Joe Brown. Under Coach Brown, Cortland has a 679-173-3 combined record with 18 NCAA Division III tournament appearances, 10 World Series showings, 15 SUNYAC titles, and won the 2015 Division III World Series.

Navarra had a promising freshmen season in 2017 earning an All Mid-State Conference honor posting a .353 batting average over 21 games. Also at the plate, Navarra led the Cannoneers in triples and doubles and was 3rd in RBI's. On the mound Navarra posted a win in his only start, striking out eight.

Navarra is a Business Administration major and will continue to study Business at Cortland State. He will lead a Law track to eventually start Law School in effort to become a Lawyer. Joshua is the cousin of current Associate Head Coach David Navarra and nephew of former Cannoneer Assistant Coach Francis Navarra.
