Cannoneer Golf Weekend Results

Cannoneer Invitational

The Cannoneers would run into a hot-shooting Niagara team and finish second at their home golf invitational held at the Highland Meadows Golf Course.  Niagara County Community College would shoot a blazing 295 as a team to take the Cannoneer Invitational.  The Cannoneers would shoot very well, coming in with a quality 316, led by Luke Heller and Jack Mills with scores of 76, followed by Dalton Myers with an 81 and Kacy Lennox, Nate Snow, and Kyle Gionet with 83's.

The MSAC Mid-State championships were also in play and the Cannoneers would take home the team title, out-distancing 2nd place Onondaga CC by 19 strokes and Tompkins-Cortland CC coming in third.  Luke Heller and Jack Mills would tie for 1st place in the Mid-States for individual play, only to see Luke Heller gain medalist honors by using the toughest handicap holes on the course to determine a winner.  Luke would gain medalist honors after going through the first 3 toughest holes on the scorecard and scoring better than Jack on the 3rd toughest hole on the course.  It was good day for the Cannoneers.

Cannoneers finish third at Herkimer

The Cannoneers would struggle a little bit as they traveled to Herkimer on Saturday for another round of golf.  The Cannoneers would shoot a mediocre 330 and finish in 3rd place, the first time they have finished lower than 2nd place all year long.  Leading the way for the Cannoneers were Luke Heller with a 79, followed by Kacy Lennox with an 82, Dalton Myers with an 83, and Jack Mills with an 86 for the team score of 330.  Next up for the Cannoneers is the Region III tournament at Glen Oaks Golf Club in Buffalo, NY for the right to go to the national tournament.
