51-45 Jefferson Women's Basketball wins the alumni game!

After 40 minutes on Saturday we (the Jefferson Women) came away from a very physical, up and down match up with the alumni victorious. With a very young team we found specific areas we excel at and those we need some fine tuning in. Thank you to all Alumni that returned for the game!

The Men's basketball team hosted their annual Robert Williams Alumni Game this past Saturday to kick off their season.  The current team defeated the alumni 85-74 in a competitive back and forth battle.  The alumni jumped out to a quick early lead early lead highlighted by a powerful two- handed Tom Kelso dunk.  The current Jefferson Players responded with a run of their own led by freshman Sam Durodola scoring 9 of the teams 11 points over a two minute stretch. At the half Jefferson led the Alumni 38-31. The second half started with Jefferson continuing their strong run extending the lead to 16.  The alumni then responded with a run of their own capped by back to back three pointers by Jeff Robbins cutting the lead down to only 4 points with 5 minutes to play. However, freshman Damien Jackson and sophomore Derrick Williams were able to settle Jefferson down by scoring 10 clutch points down the stretch sealing the victory for Jefferson.  Jabriel Blue led the offensive charge for the alumni team scoring 11 points and grabbing 5 rebounds.  Sean Gorman followed scoring 9 points and dishing out 4 assists.  Jefferson was led Derrick Williams and Damien Jackson both scoring 14 points. Freshman Isaiah Butler also chipped in with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
