The Cannoneers Split at the County College of Morris Tournament.

The Cannoneers Split at the County College of Morris Tournament.

The Cannoneers came away with a tough split over the weekend at the County College of Morris Turkey Hoopshoot.  On Friday night the hot shooting of Division II host County College of Morris was to much to overcome.  Morris finished the game 8 of 12 from behind the 3 point arc including going 7 for 11 in the 1st half.  Resulting in a 81-68 loss for the Cannoneers.  Jefferson bounced back on Saturday knocking off Gloucester of New Jersey 57-52.  The Cannoneers stifling defense was the key in victory.  Gloucester was held to just 38% from the field and 16% from the 3 point line.  Jefferson also forced the Gloucester Roadrunners into 23 turnovers.  Derrick Williams continued his strong scoring off the bench over the weekend scoring 26 and 18 points respectively.  While freshman Ryan Tomlin had a breakout weekend scoring 18 and 12 points in the tournament. Including the go ahead 3 pointer with just over 2 minutes to go in the game on Saturday en route to being named to the All-Tournament Team.
