Jefferson splits on the road!
The Cannoneers battled sickness and injuries to come away with a tough road split this past weekend at Hudson Valley and Adirondack. Missing key starters Justin Sullivan (out 3-4 weeks with a broken thumb) and Andrew McNitt due to sickness Jefferson was too small inside to deal with a tough Hudson Valley team. Being outrebounded for just the second time all season combined with the Vikings hot shooting (9-15) from behind the arc was to much to overcome. Resulting in a 73-40 loss. However, on Sunday the Cannoneers were able to come together and fight off a very scrappy Adirondack team 65-61. In a hard fought back and forth battle Jefferson was able to pull away down the stretch behind a 20 point, 9 rebound and 3 block shot effort from freshman guard Ryan Tomlin. In the absence of Sullivan and McNitt freshman forward Kenneth Thomas stepped up and held down the middle recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
Jefferson returns to action 8:00 pm Tuesday night against Mohawk Valley, please come out and Support the Cannoneers!
