The Cannoneers go 1-1 on the Weekend!

This past weeekend the Cannoneers took to the road and came home with a 1-1 record.  On the first day, the Cannoneers battled Columbia-Greene and came away with a 79-77 win.  The game was close throughout as both teams shot the ball very well.  On the day, the teams combined to make 20 three pointers.  Leading the charge for the game from long distance was Caleb Green (3) Dustin Pond (3) Sam Widrick (2) and Kevin Johnson (2).  The game would come down to the last possession as the Cannonneers had the ball with 15 seconds left and ran the play to perfection as Dustin Pond was fouled with 3 seconds left and calmly sank both free throws for the win.  Pond led all scorers with 19 points, Kenny Thomas chipped in with 14 and Caleb Green added 11 in another well balanced victory.

On the next day, the Cannoneers traveled to SUNY Delhi and gave the Broncos all they could handle.  Delhi would win the game 62-51, as both teams couldn't find the mark.  The teams played aggressive defense and combined they shot 64 free throws.  In the end, the Broncos would make clutch free throws and pull away for the victory.  The Cannoneers now stand at 4-5 and host North Country CC this Saturday at 3 in their final game of the first semester.
