Jefferson Cannoneers go 1-1 on the Weekend

Cannoneers win at home and lose in overtime on road.  Once again, balanced scoring was the key as a fired up JCC team looked to avenge a "bad" loss at Corning earlier in the year.  Corning was up at half , but the Cannoneers were resilient to the end of the game.  At the end of regulation, it was JCC holding on for a 76-73 win and handing Corning only their third loss of the season in league play.  Dustin Pond led the Cannoneers with 23 points and 9 rebs.  Kenny Thomas had a huge game with 16 points and 7 boards.  Damien Jackson continued his steady play with 15 points, followed by Caleb Green with 10 and Ryan Tomlin with 8 points.

On Sunday, the Cannoneers made the long trip to Troy, NY to face Hudson Valley in a Region III contest.  The Cannoneers battled throughout, only to lose a close battle in overtime by the score of 85-79.  The Cannoneers led at halftime and then had the ball with 32 secs left, with the game tied at 71 and were holding the ball, only to see there chance of winning the game slip through their hands at the end.  in overtime they fought valiantly only to see the Vikings hold on.  Dustin Pond and Caleb Green led the charge on the Sunday.
