Jefferson Wins on the Road but loses a Close one at Home

Cannoneers gain hard fought win on road.

The Cannoneers traveled to Schenectady County Community College and found a way to gut out a victory in the friendly confines of the Schenectady YMCA against the Royals by a final score of 60-50.  The Cannoneers would find themselves down by three at halftime and would turn up the defense in the second half and hold the Royals to a mere 21 points enroute to Region III victory.  Leading the way for the Cannoneers was Quincy Aubertine with 22 points followed by Josh Newman with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 7 blocked shots, and Herby Plaisimond with 10.  It was a great team effort and a tough road win. 

Cannoneers lose close battle at home. 

The Cannoneers entertained the Raiders of Fulton-Montgomery and lost a very close game by the score of 69-65.  Neither team could pull away from each other with the Cannoneers gaining some momentum in the second half and extending the lead to 10 only to see the Raiders claw their way back to victory.  Some costly turnovers and tough shots led to the Cannoneers demise in this match up with F-M.   The Cannoneers had a chance to tie with under 20 seconds left, only to see their shot go awry.  Leading the way for the Cannoneers were Josh Newman with 19 points and 7 rebounds,  followed by Quincy Aubertine with 13.  Nickson Merone would add 10 points and 10 rebounds in the battle with the Raiders.  The Cannoneers now go on break and resume play on Nov. 28 against Tomkins Cortland Community College at home.
