Cannoneers Outlast Saints in Wild Scoring Affair

The Cannoneers hosted the North Country Saints on Wednesday and a barrage of goals were scored as the host Cannoneers scored an 8-4 victory.

The Saints would strike first as Thomas Skinner would put the visitors up 1-0.  Edward Goodall would tie the game for the Cannoneers 7 minutes later.  The Saints would battle back and take a 2-1 lead 5 minutes later and that would remain the score until 16 seconds left in the half as Edward Goodall would send the Cannoneers into halftime with a 2-2 tie.

The second half started with a flurry as Tim Irwin would score 2 quick goals in the first 5 minutes to give the Cannoneers a quick 2 goal lead.  The Saints would battle back and tie the score at 4-4 in the next 5 minutes only to see Irwin score 2 more quick goals to give the Cannoneers a lead they would not relinquish the rest of the game.  Patrick Rosato would continue his consecutive game goal scoring streak to 3 games, scoring a goal that would ice the game for the Cannoneers.  Dylan Terry would close out the scoring sheet with a nice goal with 9 minutes left in the game.  Assisting on goals for the Cannoneers were Edward Goodall with 2, Luke Theodore, Ian Collins and Patrick Rosato, all with 1 assist.
With this victory, the Cannoneers get their first win to move their record to 1-1-1 in Region 3 play.
Jefferson will travel to SUNY Adirondack on Saturday.  Game time is set for 3:00 pm.
