JCC Gets Much Needed Home Win

The Jefferson men's soccer team hosted Finger Lakes Community College on Wednesday in a Region III game and came away with a much needed 6-2 victory.  The Cannoneers came out firing and finally scored on a well placed corner kick from Patrick Rosato and a great finish from Kyle Barker off the head to put the Cannoneers up 1-0.  After that, Tim Irwin received a beautiful ball from Breven Jacobs and turned and buried a shot in the upper corner for a 2-0 lead.  Patrick Rosato then calmly pushed a shot by the Finger Lakes goalie to increase the lead to 3-0 before Finger Lakes answered with a gaol just before halftime to make it 3-1 heading into the break.  The second half got off to a great start with Edward Goodall finding the back of the net, Finger Lakes then scored to make it 4-2, then Tim Irwin and Abdul Sanderson put the game out of reach for the Cannoneers by finishing 2 great goals to end the game.  Next up is Clinton Community College on Sunday afternoon.
