Furious Rally by Cannoneers Falls Short

The Cannoneers traveled to Mohawk Valley on Saturday to take on the Hawks and came up on the short end of a great comeback, by the score of 4-3.  The Hawks would come out forcing the issue and taking it right to Cannoneers and would dent the back of the Cannoneer net at the 16 minute mark to go up 1-0.  The Hawks would keep applying pressure and would score again at the 27 minute mark to go up 2-0.  The Cannoneers would continue to fight and almost got one back as a Hunter Birchenough's shot deflected off the post in the closing minutes of the first half.

The second half would start out the same way as the Hawks scored in the first 2 minutes to go up 3-0 and continue to take the play to the Cannoneers.  With 30 minutes to go the Cannoneers would take their game to another level and start to pressure the Hawks.  Patrick Rosato would find the back of the net with 28 minutes to go off of a scramble situation to cut the lead to 3-1.  5 minutes later Rosato would find the back of the net from a perfectly placed ball from Dylan Terry in the same area to get the Cannoneers within 1 goal, 3-2.  The Cannoneers would continue to pressure the Hawks and with less than 3 minutes to go, Abdul Sanderson would finish off the rally with a goal in front of the net on a neat pass from Tim Irwin.  The Cannoneers were deflated when Mohawk Valley would score off a corner kick with 40 seconds left to end up on the short side of a 4-3 Mohawk Valley win.
