Cannoneers Cruise Over Niagara

The Jefferson Men's soccer came away with an impressive win over Niagara County Community College on Saturday by the score of 5-3.  The Cannoneers struck quickly as Eric Gibbs finished off a pass from Abdul Sanderson in the 2nd minute to take a quick 1-0 lead.  The game would progress as the Cannoneers held the advantage of play for the remainder of the half and tacked on 3 more goals. In the 38th minute  Abdul Sanderson scored a goal on a nice feed from Tim Irwin, the 39th minute Colby LaPlatney scored (unassisted) and in the 42nd minute Kyle Barker scored (unassisted) to take a commanding 4-0 lead into halftime.  The second half would be played against the wind and the Cannoneers would possess the ball for most of the half to only see NCCC score in the 80th minute to cut the lead to 4-1.  Dylan Terry would get the final goal for the Cannoneers off a beautiful cross from Alex Brandes to cap off the scoring for the Cannoneers on the afternoon.  The Cannoneers would cruise for the rest of the way as NCCC scored two more goals for the final of 5-3.
