Men’s Soccer Finishes on Winning Note

The Jefferson Men's soccer team played their final game of the season against Hudson Valley Community College on the Watertown High School Turf Field and didn't disappoint the loyal fans who came out to support them on a very cold and rainy day.  The men came away with a very well played 2-0 win.  Jefferson controlled most of the play and showed much perseverance before scoring in the 30th minute on a wonderful goal from Eric Gibbs to take a 1-0 lead.  The Cannoneers would continue to pressure and Hudson Valley would get called for a hand ball in the 41 st minute and Tim Irwin would add the PK for a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.  The second half was fairly even with both teams getting few good chances as the rain and cold made for a miserable day on the pitch.  The Cannonneers finished on a winning note and the sophomores (Brenden Jacobs, Breven Jacobs, Kyle Barker, Makeem Huggins, Andrew Johnson, Abdul Sanderson and Eric Gibbs), would end their career here with a well-deserved win.  Best of luck to all of the sophomores as they move on.
