Jefferson Ends their 2015 Season with a Win

Last night the Jefferson Women's Soccer team ended their season with 6-2 win over the Cayuga Lady Spartans.  Taylor Andrews scored her first "Hat Trick" of the season for the Lady Cannoneers.  Bryanna Gagnon, Kerstin Phelps, and Tess Khalife each scored a goal for JCC.  Olivia Barker assisted on 2 of the 6 goals, while Lauren Smith had 1 assist. Katie Aldrich had 6 saves in goal.

Not only was last night their last game of the season, but it was also their "Pink Out" night and the last night for their Sophomores, Katie Aldrich, Lauren Smith, Kerstin Phelps, Olivia Barker, Deleha Decker and Annette Rishe.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month the team dedicated this night in memory of JoAnn Weaver Covey, the Aunt of one of their players, Bryanna Gagnon, who lost her battle with Breast Cancer on September 13, 2015 at the age of 54.

She is survived by her husband Dan, daughter Erin, sons Marc and Danny and 8 grandchildren.  Also surviving are her parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.  Her grandchildren meant more to her than anything else. JoAnn last worked at Carthage Savings & Loan where she was well respected by her co-workers as well as the many customers she served.  She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. JoAnn always had a smile on her face and a contagious laugh that filled the room. She lived life to the fullest and is greatly missed by all who knew her.

The team also sold "Pink Out" shirts, where proceeds from the sale will go towards Breast Cancer Research.
