Women's Soccer Sophomores Recognized

The following Jefferson Women's Soccer players were recognized yesterday in their last home game of the season.

Caitlyn Gerrard

Caitlyn came to us from Cincinnatas High School where she was a standout soccer and basketball player. Her leadership abilities have earned her a captain position on the team. Caitlyn has played several positions for us as a Lady Cannoneer and has been excellent in each of those. She has played nearly 90 minutes in every game for both seasons even with an injury late in the season last year. She was named MSAC All Conference last season and looks like a great chance to be selected this season. An All-Regional nomination last year as well. She has 3 goals and 3 assists as a defender. Caitlyn plans to transfer to SUNY Brockport next fall.

Kendra Grim

Kendra is a graduate of Carthage High School and was big part of our defense for both years. She quietly goes about her business with speed and confidence. Kendra had an injury early in the season that ended this year's season for her, but she still is at every practice and game. She received surgery Tuesday and we know her attitude and drive will get her back to 100% quickly. She is undecided with next year's plans.

Courtnee Denton

Courtnee is a graduate of Carthage High School and is easily one of our most improved players. She is a leader for our team and a leader for many other programs here at Jefferson including being a student trustee and Ambassador for Enrollment Services. Courtnee has a positive attitude and the drive to do well both on and on the field and maintains a very high GPA. She has plans to transfer to a four year school and study political science.

Brandi Denton

Brandi is a graduate of Carthage High School who like her sister Courtnee (2 0f triplet sisters), has been another player who would be considered one of the most improved players.  Her "on field" playing time has tripled from last season and her left foot has become as strong as her right foot increasing her value to the team on the field. The Dentons who are a military family may be re-located to Hawaii  where Brandi will continue her studies.

Natalie Hike

Natalie, a Carthage High School graduate, is a team captain and unfortunately broke her foot a week before the start of the season which did not stop her from being a leader on the team.  She showed up for every practice and every game despite not being able to play. Her emotion and passion for the game is always an inspiration for our team. Her plans next fall are still be decided.

Zoe Stuckey

Zoe is a graduate of Bellville Henderson Central School who has stepped her play up this season playing 90 minutes of every game and leading the team with 9 goals this season and 11 over her past 2 seasons here at Jefferson. She has always been willing to take the lead in planning team events and does a great job leading and organizing the team .  Zoe plans to attend SUNY Cortland and continue her studies in physical education next fall.

Julia Owens

Julia comes to us from Beaver River High School and quickly became one of the dominate players on the field as a freshman. Julia has played defense, midfield and forward for us in the past 2 seasons. Her talents and hard work are evident when you watch her play. Besides being a team captain, Julia has 3 goals and 3 assists in her many roles over the past 2 seasons. She plans to transfer to Coastal Carolina in the spring and study exercise science.
