Jefferson Volleyball Runners Up in MSAC Conference Volleyball Tournament

Jefferson Volleyball defeated Corning in the MSAC semi-finals in three sets; 26-24, 25-15, and 25-14 to advance to the finals against OCC.  Jefferson then fell to Onondaga Community College in the finals in three sets; 15-25, 16-25, and 17-25.  Xanara Ruiz tallied 26 kills and 18 digs to lead the team, Bryanna finished with 32 digs and 13 kills, and Alexa Runyon had a solid day with 9 kills and 7 blocks.  Mallory Harter put up another solid performance finishing with 50 assists and 13 digs, Kiley Ardison led the defense with 35 digs, Mariah Corbett chipped in 12 digs, Jenna Wilson finished with 10 digs, and Vanessa Vallance added 7 digs.  Cassandra Branagan stepped into the middle for an injured Josie Wood and finished the day with 6 kills and 10 digs.  Bryanna Gagnon and Xanara Ruiz were named to the MSAC All-Conference Team.  This tournament marked the end of the season for the Lady Cannoneers.  Xanara, Mariah, Bry, and Vanessa will certainly be missed next year as this young team looks to put in a lot of hard work in the off season in order to be competitive in 2018.
