Jefferson Cross Country Teams Finish Season Strong

The  Jefferson Cannoneer men's and women's cross country team had an outstanding showing at the NJCAA Division III National Cross Country meet this weekend held by Holyoke CC at Stanley park in Westfield, MA.

The men ran extremely well with 5 of the 7 runners setting personal bests for the 8K distance and were led by yet another solid performance by Alex Hall who set a personal best by 37 seconds.  He was followed by James Lamson who missed a personal best by a mere 14 seconds, Michael McLane (personal best by 1 min 9 sec), Evan Morine (personal best by 3 min 5 sec), Dakota Rookey, Nicholas Kogut (personal best by 1 min 56 sec) and Arthur Campbell (personal best by 2 min 27 sec)

The women were led by Kurstyn Macaulay who finished 22nd in the team scoring and was followed by a strong showing by the women with 3 out of the 7 runners setting personal bests for the 5k distance; Cori Mainville (personal best by 41 sec), Reganne Smith (personal best by 2 sec), Nola Pominville, Andrea Smith, Lauren Bianco, and Megan Denise (personal best by 2 sec)).  The lady cannoneers also picked up an outstanding performance by Andrea Smith who has been the lady cannoneer's 6th runner all season and stepped up this past weekend into the 5th spot finishing 88th in the team scoring.
