Brown Named Jefferson Athlete of the Week

Watertown, NY-freshman forward, Tyrone Brown of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) men’s basketball team, was named JCC athlete of the week, for the week ending February 22, 2026. 

Brown, 2025 graduate of Urban Assembly Academy of Government and Law, is majoring in Sports Management at Jefferson.  Tyrone had a strong week for the Cannoneers as he averaged 13 PPG, 7 RPG, while shooting 61% from the field.  His continued improvement helped the Cannoneers win their final game against SUNY Broome, in which he had a "double-double".  He has been asked to play out of position most of the season and has taken on the challenge against much bigger post players without complaint.  It is this positive attitude that has made him a key part of the Cannoneer program over the latter part of the season.
