Martin and McGrew Named Jefferson Co-Athletes of the Week

Freshman right-handed pitcher, Easton K. Martin of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) baseball team, and sophomore infielder, Hailey R. McGrew, of the Jefferson Community College softball team, were named JCC co-athletes of the week for the week ending April 13, 2024.  JCC's athlete of the week program is sponsored by Under Armour.

Easton, a 2023 graduate of Gallatin High School, Bozeman, Montana, is majoring in Humanities and Social Sciences at Jefferson.  Martin’s accomplishments on the mound this past week included pitching a complete game shutout in Jefferson Baseball’s 5-0 win over Mohawk Valley Community College.  Easton pitched all 7 innings with 81 pitches. He struck out 4 batters, only allowed 2 hits, 2 walks, and no runs.  

Hailey, a 2022 graduate of Sandy Creek High School, is majoring in Childhood Education at Jefferson.  McGrew’s accomplishments at the plate this past week included having a batting average of .667 in 4 games as well as tallying 4 RBIs and a 5-5 day against Tompkins Cortland. She also reached base safely at a .727 percentage. Hailey is one of the vocal leaders on the team and especially in the infield, always supporting her teammates and pushing them to be their best. Her hard work from her freshman year has translated into her sophomore campaign as she currently leads the team in batting average (.550) and is third in RBIs (8).
