Ruiz Named Jefferson Athlete of the Week

Watertown, NY-Sophomore guard, Cameron X. Ruiz of the Jefferson Community College (JCC) men’s basketball team, was named JCC athlete of the week for the week ending January 24, 2026. 

Ruiz, a 2024 graduate of New Design High School, is majoring in Individual Studies at Jefferson.  This past week, Cameron helped the Cannoneers break their losing skid against Finger Lakes by having the best game of his career, with 18 points and 5 assists.  Cam has been playing hurt and continually gives 100 percent, even though he is in quite a bit of pain each day.  His determination and dedication to the Cannoneer program continues to show as he improves each day and strives to be the best he can, both on and off the court.
