Game 1 of Thursday's double-header against Broome saw the Cannoneers pick up their first win of the season. Tim Trumble pitched an outstanding 6 innings, allowing only 1 earned run and striking out 4 to pick up the win. Eli Sherwin struck out 3 to close the game. Some walks and errors let Broome back into the game late, but JCC was able to hold on. Noah Zehr collected 3 hits, 1 RBI, and 2 stolen bases. Dylan Castell and Will Cole each had 2 hits and a stolen base. 6 different Cannoneers had an RBI and 7 batters had at least 1 hit.
Game 2 of the double-header against Broome was back and forth. The Hornets got out to an early lead on the strength of some JCC free bases. The Cannoneers battled back with Yojairo Juan, Dylan Castell, and Ethan Cane collecting 2 hits apiece, with Cane slugging a home run and 4 RBI's on the game. 8 JCC batters had at least a hit, 6 had at least 1 RBI, and 5 had at least 1 stolen base. Broome regained the lead in the 5th inning and the game would end early in the 6th inning due to rain.
