eSports Playoff Tournament Results for the Week of Dec 1st - Dec 10th
After a strong season for the Fortnite teams they had mixed results in the tournament starting with a 3-1 win over Herkimer followed by a 3-0 loss to Richard Bland College of William and Mary . Despite their strong season, Ian Jarrard, Andrew Pierce and Ruby Stump were unable to get much going for eliminations and were eliminated. Trevor McIntyre and Carson Chambers experienced a first-round victory including a 20-elimination performance. Chambers and McIntyre were unfortunately eliminated just before the quarterfinals in the following match.
Super Smash Bros saw all three qualifiers move past the first round as Dan Peguerra, Jack Rattray, and Harry Scott all advanced with Jack coming back down 2-0 to win 3-2. Whilst Scott and Peguerra were bested in the following round of competition, Jack continued his winning ways to make it to the third round of competition where he unfortunately was defeated after two wins.
Overwatch teams also saw some success with one team advancing into the second round but being swept in the second-round contest. Great efforts from Riley Carter and Diego Rivera were not enough to overcome the opposition. The Call of Duty, Valorant, and Mario Kart teams were all unable to move past the first round of play in their tournaments unfortunately, and will look to bounce back in the spring semester.
All teams and players experienced a variety of success all fall, and will look to continue their performances starting back in January.
