Jefferson Volleyball Wins at Home

On Wednesday, September 12, 2012, the Jefferson Volleyball team  hosted Finger Lakes in a MSAC, Mid-State Athletic Conference volleyball match.  Coach Kent said, "Jefferson went out to a quick lead in game 1 and never looked back."  The Lady Cannoneers defeated the Lady Lakers in 3 sets, 25-12, 25-17, 25-19. 

Athlete of the Week Lahni Duffer compiled 26 assists and 12 service points and Katie Peters had 13 digs and 7 service points.  The strong hitting by Ashley Capone with 14 kills and 4 blocks helped lead the team to victory.  Katie Slate racked up 4 kills and 6 digs and Francesca Barajas had 9 service points and 5 kills.  The girls are focused on a tough weekend ahead.  The team plays #1 seed Monroe and #2 seed Alfred along with Finger Lakes again on Saturday at the Onondaga Community College Pod Match.  They are looking to continue a 5 game winning streak.
