Jefferson Volleyball MSAC Champions!

The 2012 Lady Cannoneers are MSAC Champions!  On Saturday, JCC hosted the Mid-State Athletic Conference Finals and went into the tournament seeded #1.  Their first opponent was #4 Corning Community College, and the girls quickly went to business, starting game one on an 8-0 run.  They cruised to victory 25-16 and then finished Corning off in game two 27-25.  Onondaga Community College defeated Finger Lakes Community College and therefore would meet JCC in the finals, which was best out of five.  Jefferson easily took game one 25-16 and continued their domination to end the match in three, 25-21 and 25-15.  Captain Lahni Duffer was named to the All-Conference Team and compiled 52 assists and 8 digs.  Ashley Capone joined Lahni on the All-Conference Team and racked up 15 kills, 6 blocks, and 14 service points.  The Tournament MVP was awarded to Katie Peters, she had 15 service points and 12 digs.  Francesca Barajas added 13 service points, 9 kills and 18 digs while Katie Slate had 13 service points, 8 kills and 9 digs.  Hannah McGregor once again dominated the net in the middle with 11 kills and 6 blocks.  Jessica Dobson-Tufo added 5 kills and 6 service points while Kierstin Burke compiled 8 kills and 8 digs.  Linne Ebbrecht finished the day with 8 service points and 4 digs.

"This is a huge accomplishment for the team, it is something the girls have worked hard for and certainly deserve.  Anyone who was in that gym on Saturday was able to see this team play at their best, several plays were ran and executed with domination.  The team had a point to prove, this was their day, JCC will be and is a force to be reckoned with."
