Jefferson Volleyball's Season ends in Semi-Regional Final game against Jamestown CC.

The Lady Cannoneers started out Saturday with a huge win, 3-0 defeating #4 Alfred, 25-20, 25-19, 25-23.   In the end this proved to be the deciding factor of who was going to make it to day 2.  The team then dropped 3 close sets to #1 Niagara, 29-31, 21-25, 18-25.  To finish out the day the girls once again defeated Corning in three straight - 25-13, 25-17, 25-15.  This put the girls at 6-3 for the day which meant they were in 2nd place in the pool and moving on to semi-finals, upsetting Alfred!  On Sunday, the team played Jamestown and lost in 3, 23-25, 15-25, 17-25.  Jamestown went on to win Regionals by defeating Monroe in 3 straight sets.  Lahni Duffer and Kierstin Burke were named to the All-Tournament Team.  Kierstin came alive on Saturday and was virtually unstoppable on right side, compiling 21 kills and 20 digs and Lahni Duffer had 90 assists and 21 service points. Our middles once again proved how dominating they are at the net, Ashley Capone had 23 kills and 11 blocks while Hannah McGregor had 14 kills and 9 blocks.  Our outside hitting was lead by Francesca Barajas, Katie Slate and Jess Tufo.  Frannie racked up 15 kills, 40 digs, and 30 service points.  Katie compiled 15 kills, 16 digs and 14 service points.  Jess finished with 7 kills and 16 digs.  Our defense was once again led by Katie Peters with 38 digs and 16 service points and Linne Ebbrecht had 15 digs and 21 service points.  Alll good things come to an end and the girls came up just short to a very solid Jamestown team.  The team has so much to be proud of, it has been many years since JCC has even qualified for Regionals, let alone make it to the top 4!  The seven Sophomores will be missed for so many reasons.  They are the ones who took us to the top this year and should be so proud of what they accomplished in just two short years.
